b. 1827. She was the first person to be buried in the platted cemetery. Her grave site is unknown. Her husband George Horton (1741-1835) fought in the American Revolution as a private from Pennsylvania under Captain Shoemaker, 1780-1783. (George Horton is not buried in Mount Avon.) The family came to Avon Township in 1825. The Lively Town tells us that "George Horton led 30 New Yorkers across Canada with four wagons, eight yoke of oxen, one yoke of steers, four head of cattle, one horse, 14 sheep and eight swine."
