When should I call 9-1-1 instead of the Police Department's general number?
Examples of situations when 9-1-1 should not be called include:
  • An auto accident where there are no injuries
  • An alleged crime where the offender cannot be located
  • A request for general information
  • Medical situations that do not require an ambulance
However, if you are not sure which number to call, please call 9-1-1. It is better to be safe then sorry.
